This is P-47D-3-RA 328th FS/ 352nd FG flown by Capt. William T.
Halton England, 1943.
Tamiya's 1/48 scale P-47 offerings are a pleasure to build. Building
was straight forward and a simple conversion of reshaping the two
bottom cowl flaps either side of the cowling backdates the model to
Straight from the box, Tamiya's Razorback is a later version with
the scalloped cowl flaps. I simply cut those away and fabricated new
ones from thin sheet brass.
The only other additions other than kit supplied are the belts and
harness. I thought about adding the little bead sight to the forward

The model is painted with Model Master enamels and decaled with
Thunderbolt set No. 48-785.
